Miriam hails from Philadelphia and currently resides in Seattle. She trained as an actor at the Atlantic Theater Company and the London Dramatic Academy and holds a MA in Directing and Adaptation from NYU. She has taught drama on a sustainable farm in the Czech Republic, integrated theatre into Science and Literacy classes in Denver, and ran her own theatre company in New York City.
Miriam's plays explore the human condition when placed in extraordinary situations. Her plays are highly theatrical, pushing linguistic boundaries and relying on imagination to set the premise. What happens when loneliness, dread, and angst come face-to-face with adventure, whimsy, and romance? Grotesque nightmares meet fantastical absurdism.
