about
Hello! I’m Miriam.
I AM a Seattle-based playwright, theatre artist, and writing instructor. I’ve performed on stages across the US and Europe and have taught drama to youth in Seattle, NYC, Denver, and on a farm in the Czech Republic. I also run SCRiB LAB, a writing organization aimed at creating community through experimentation.
I BELIEVE in the power of the absurd. That meeting place of humor and the grotesque. Where devastation transforms into the ridiculous. Where pain and joy journey together into the dark caves of our memories.
I WRITE the extraordinary to make sense of the ordinary. To bring characters into and through the dark. To find enlightenment.
